If DeHaan was approached with a multi year he very well may reach for the stars knowing our obvious need for defensive help and the NHL's overall current valuing of defensemen at this point. I like the kid A LOT but I'd rather see some kind of bridge deal at this point.

Hoping for a 3yr deal at a fair number to both sides. I'd give him 3 years $7.5M.

I'm sorry, but, something that bugs me with a lot of hockey bloggers out there is the inability to distinguish between "resign" and "re-sign".

You better do something about these before he notices it.

Two guys signed to two way contracts? Sabre fans never fail to amaze me with their knowledge.

Cizikas didn't look as effective last year compared to the prior years. I'll be OK if he gets a modest raise but he needs to play with that edge again.

Neither one will be on the Isles next year, so not sure what you are talking about.

I realize that there's a good chance I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't be upset if they locked him up for 5yrs either. A bit of a risk given his injury history, but if he can keep improving on a season like the last, he'll be a steal in a few years.

I like cdh but I dont think he has much leverage. Hasnt had a health season since joining the Isles and played only a partial season last year. I would expect a modest 3-year deal at max.

The injury thing is overblown. Off his four major injuries three were major penalties leading in suspensions and the fourth someone fell on his shoulder socket. The injury he suffered against Ovechkin last year was not serious and he could have played if the games meant anything. Honestly he has had some poop luck
